Just a couple of days ago, Department of Memes reported on new White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci and expressed optimism about his performance during the Trump administration.
We are glad to report that it appears our high hopes have been validated, as ‘The Mooch’ went into full DJT mode in an interview with CBS news, threatening to clean house in order to stop the internal problem with politically motivated leaks.
“‘I think, unfortunately, he may have had a conversation in the Oval Office or somewhere about it and then people rush out to leak that information to people’, the White House comms director stated. ‘It’s very unprofessional and harmful.’ “
“They will get fired. Tomorrow I’ll have a staff meeting and it will be very — I’m not going to make any prejudgments about anybody on that staff, if stay, they’re going to stop leaking. If the leaks continue, we are strong is our weakest link and I’ll say it differently in a pun where a strong as our weakest leak. If you guys want to keep leaking, get together and make a decision as a team that you’re going to stop leaking. If you’re going to keep leaking I’m going to fire everybody.”
Some were initially skeptical of Scaramucci, as in the past his political leanings have been somewhat erratic and difficult to pin down. However, President Donald Trump was fond of telling voters he would hire some of the meanest, nastiest, most capable people he knew in order to turn the country around, often telling voters he knows the best, but they may not be the type of people they would want to come to a dinner party.
It’s a welcome relief to see such a no-nonsense approach to internal communications, and one can hope the offending leakers will be swiftly relieved of duty and perhaps stridently prosecuted where possible.
