Antifa has been having a rough time of it lately. A guy drove through them at the Unite The Right Rally in Charlottesville, President Donald Trump called them out as an equal instigator of violence, and now a new petition on whitehouse.gov seeks to label them a terrorist organization.
It’s about time, frankly. New Jersey’s Department of Homeland Security has already declared Antifa a domestic terrorist organization, and there are ongoing efforts in other states.
The White House petition aims to get that label confirmed on the federal level in all fifty states, so that communicates can organize more effectively against their violent tactics.
According to the petition’s creator:
“Terrorism is defined as ‘the use of violence and intimidation in pursuit of political aims”)’. This definition is the same definition used to declare ISIS and other groups, as terrorist organizations. AntiFa has earned this title due to its violent actions in multiple cities and their influence in the killings of multiple police officers throughout the United States. It is time for the pentagon to be consistent in its actions – and just as they rightfully declared ISIS a terror group, they must declare AntiFa a terror group – on the grounds of principle, integrity, morality, and safety.”
Sounds like common sense. And a lot of people agree.
Official White House petitions need a minimum of 100,000 signatures within 30 days in order to get an official response from the White House. After less than a week the petition has amassed over 200,000 signatures, and the number is still growing daily.
The future for combating leftist terrorism looks bright indeed.
